ARN Hong Kong Privacy Policy｜香港私隱政策

We collect information relevant to your enquiry or requested service, such as your name, contact details, relationship to a child, enquiry and the learning, development or related background information you choose to provide. Service records may include appointments, learning progress, payments and correspondence. We use these to respond, arrange and provide requested services, administer appointments and payments, support learning needs and carry out related administration. Provide only necessary information that you are entitled to disclose. A person providing a child’s information should be their parent, guardian or authorised representative.

Photos, audio or video used in services should be handled under the relevant activity notice and arrangements. A general enquiry does not authorise public or promotional use of a child’s image. New purposes outside the original or directly related purposes require prescribed consent or an applicable legal exception.

Forms identify required and optional fields. Without necessary details we may be unable to process a form; you may instead contact us by telephone or email. The Real-World Ready quiz organises answers and initial results in your browser. When you submit your email to request the full report, your email, answers and results are provided to ARN for processing, storage and delivery of the report. Do not enter unnecessary identity numbers, medical reports or other sensitive information in free-text fields. The quiz is not a medical diagnosis.

Relevant ARN personnel and providers supporting website hosting, email, IT, administration or professional services may handle data for the stated purposes, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection arrangements. Courts, regulators or law-enforcement bodies may receive data where required or permitted by law. This does not constitute consent for other organisations to use your data for their own marketing.

Before using your name, email or telephone number to market ARN therapy, skills assessments, training programmes or events by email, telephone, SMS or WhatsApp, we will give the relevant notice and obtain the required consent. Website marketing choices are optional and unticked by default. Declining does not affect an enquiry or request for service. You can stop direct marketing free of charge by emailing info@autismrecovery.hk or using the opt-out method in a message. Browsing or submitting a general enquiry is not marketing consent. Any proposal to provide data to another party for that party’s direct marketing requires the separate notices and written consent required by the Ordinance.

Data should be retained no longer than necessary for its purpose, taking account of service follow-up, applicable legal requirements and disputes. Retention needs should be reviewed and data securely deleted or anonymised when no longer needed. We take practicable measures against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss or use. Website, email and other support providers may process or store data outside Hong Kong; their handling should be covered by contractual or other safeguards for security and retention. Internet transmission cannot be guaranteed absolutely secure. This policy does not exclude duties imposed by law.

The website may use cookies, analytics and advertising measurement, including functions provided by Google or Meta, to process device, browser, IP address and browsing or interaction information for website operation, usage analysis and marketing measurement. You can manage cookies through browser and relevant service settings; disabling functions may affect the site. WhatsApp, social platforms, maps and external links are provided by third parties whose privacy policies should also be read. We do not represent that their processing occurs only in Hong Kong.

You may request access to personal data we hold and correction of inaccurate data under the Ordinance. We may request necessary information to verify identity and authority. We handle requests within statutory time limits: data access requests generally require action within 40 days, subject to the Ordinance’s exceptions and notification requirements. Any access fee will not be excessive and will be explained beforehand.

Updates are published here with their date. Publication of an update does not automatically expand consent already given; a purpose requiring separate consent will be handled separately. This policy is interpreted under Hong Kong law and does not restrict your rights under the Ordinance or your right to approach the relevant authorities.
